JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Safety Officer has the responsibility for working with the different trades on the job site the tasks include:
• Worker orientation.
• Safety training.
• Support, audit and monitor the project’s adherence to corporate and site specific safety
policies.
• Correcting any unsafe acts or conditions observed immediately or as soon as possible. Those that cannot be resolved at the supervisory level will be reported to an elevated level of
management.
• Motivate personnel to carry out the safety program by instruction, example, and leadership.
• Investigate incidents and all unplanned occurrences and document/report out appropriately.
• Stop and correct any unsafe acts or conditions as immediate as possible and lead with the zero
tolerance for unsafe acts philosophy with the pursuit for zero incidents.
• Promote safety, quality, and productivity.
• Create Job Safety Analysis’s for job tasks on site.
The Project Safety Officer will report to the Environmental Safety Director.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and health, or construction management.
• Understanding of OSHA, MSHA, DEP, EPA regulations a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• OSHA 30hr in Construction (preferred, required to obtain after hire)
• Able to work with all aspects of Management including sub-contractors
• Computer Literacy (MS Office)
• There will be some on-the Job training as required
The job site is currently located in the Allentown PA area. Some Travel may be required.
